Being aware that medicine therapy becomes more and more customized everyday, Farmacias Benavides presents to the medical community and general public its new Prescription Laboratory.
This laboratory, located in the Mitras Sur area of the city of Monterrey, NL, gives service to all Farmacias Benavides of the urban zone of Monterrey (San Nicolas, Apodaca, Guadalupe, Escobedo, Garza Garcia, Santa Catarina and Monterrey), and soon will be covering the whole northeast part of the State of Nuevo Leon.
Our lab is managed by professional Chemical Pharmacologists, highly specialized in the elaboration and quality control of customized formulations.
What is a Prescription Laboratory?
It´s a pharmacy laboratory – a “drugstore”- where special medications are prepared through a “prescription” issued by a doctor for a certain patient, and that regularly is not available in the dose, presentation or medical association (“salts”) that the patient needs for his or her treatment.
What are the characteristics of a prescription?
A prescription is prepared according to the individual needs of each patient, those needs determined by his doctor.

What kinds of drugs are prepared in a Prescription Laboratory or Drugstore?
Almost any medicine can be elaborated in a customized formula.
Among the most used are the dermatological formulations (for dermatitis, psoriasis, allergies, baldness, warts, skin spots, among others), pediatric formulations (syrups to increase the appetite, vitamins, aminoacids, etc.) and weight loss formulations (formulas for appetite that inhibit appetite or burn fat, used in obesity treatments)
How can I request my customized prescription?
When your doctor prescribes you a treatment with a customized formula, take your prescription to any Benavides pharmacy.
Request to speak with Pharmaceutical Chemistry or Store Manager if you require some orientation.
You will leave the prescription in the pharmacy and will be able to pick it up when you get your medicine on the following day.
Once I handle in my prescription in Farmacias Benavides, how long does it takes to get my medication?
Although the preparation of a customized formula can be done quite fast, several quality control procedures are performed to insure that the preparation you get is exactly what the doctor is ordering in his prescription.
This way, depending on the city in which you are located, the delivery of the medication takes approximately 24 hours. Nevertheless, urgency situations can be considered to reduce the delivery time.
